on this day: Saturday 11th March 1978: an all conquering Nottingham Forest side proved they were occasionally human after all, losing 2-0 to West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns in an FA Cup quarter final to end dreams of the league, league Cup and FA Cup treble Mick Martin and Cyrille Regis scored the goals which sent the reds crashing out........

A surprise signing from Long Eaton United, Garry Birtles, made his debut against Hull City on the right wing, it would take 18 months for birtles to make a second appearance...............

Saturday 13th March 1976.

Possibly the most unsung member of the Nottingham Forest 1977/78 championship winning side, Colin Barrett, made his debut on loan from Manchester City at home to Fulham, Barrett's finest moment came in the first leg of the first round of the 2978/79 European Cup against Liverpool, scoring the crucial goal with a rather special volley...........

Saturday 15th April 1911.

Nottingham Forest completed a miserable season as they finished bottom of the First Division and were relegated. They lost their final match at Bristol City 5-1, completing an awful sequence of 13 league games without a single win, their last victory being at home to Liverpool FC on the 21st of January that year.  Crying or Very sad pale

04th September 1965

Barry McArthur became Nottingham Forest's first ever used substitute following the introduction of a number 12 at the start of the season. He came on for Chris Crowe at (Dirty) Leeds United in a 2-1 defeat. it was also McArthur's league club debut.
